Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:06
Almost all of the children at Hope Unlimited struggle with the idea of Fatherhood at first. This is because the only father figure they ever knew was a distorted one, made by a person who was angry, abusive, etc.
The biggest challenge they face is to understand that they have a Father that is the opposite of this attributes. A father that is loving, caring, and is always looking out for our best interest and when He does correct us it is because He loves us.
Because the Lord disciplines the one he loves. Hebrews 12:6
The first thing that we learn as a Christian is that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
The second part that we learn from the verse, is also very important, it's says: "No one comes to the Father except though me". What Jesus is teaching here is phenomenal. He is giving us a lesson. That in order for us to have an intimate relationship with the Father, first we need to learn how to be sons and daughters.
God wants' us to call Him as our daddy, someone we can tell everything, find comfort in, see and feel Him so close to us, as someone that urges to sit us in His lap and pet our hair, pet our face and tell us "Do not fear my child, for I am with you" Isaiah 41:10. And to achieve this amazing relationship, we need to be obedient and loving sons and daughters first.
How are we doing as children here on earth (no matter our age)? How can we become better children for our heavenly father? Maybe it starts first with becoming better children for our earthly parents.Jesus said in John 10:30: "And I and the Father are one". Jesus is in unison with God the father and understands how to be our incredibly loving Father because first he understood what it was like to be a son.
